Abs is dedicated entirely to managing children’s smiles — from toddlers to teenagers — offering everything from simple treatments to advanced, specialist children's dental care both at RESTORE Dental Specialists in Barnt Green and BUPA Dental Care Kelvin Lodge. We understand that some children need a dedicated specialist paediatric dentist to provide a little extra support, whether that’s to help them feel comfortable, manage anxiety, or accommodate complex dental needs.

Helping Children Feel at Ease
Visiting the dentist can feel daunting for many children, so we place just as much importance on supporting their confidence as we do on delivering high-quality treatment.
Through tailored communication, relaxation techniques, and options such as video glasses or inhalation sedation, we make dental visits a positive experience — helping children feel calm, safe, and reassured every step of the way.
Video-glasses
One of the ways we help children feel relaxed during treatment is with our state of the art videoglasses. These lightweight, comfortable headsets let children watch anything they like - from YouTube® clips to their favourite films on Disney+® or Netflix® - whilst we carry out their care. For many of our children, the time in the chair flies by because of the video that they have chosen!
Inhalation sedation
For children who feel anxious or need extra help to cope with treatment, we offer inhalation sedation - sometimes called 'happy air'. This involves breathing in a safe mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen through a small, comfortable nosepiece. It helps children feel calm, more relaxed and less aware of the treatment, whilst being awake and able to communicate. The effects wear off quickly so they can return to normal activities soon after. It is a proven, safe and effective way to make dental visits a more positive experience for nervous children.
