Video-Glasses for Children
We know that for many children, a visit to the dentist can feel a little daunting. That’s why we use video-glasses — a simple but powerful way to help children feel relaxed and distracted while having their dental treatment.
What Are
Video-Glasses?
Video-glasses are lightweight headsets that allow children to watch a film or cartoon while we carry out their dental care. By focusing on the story in front of them, children are less aware of the sights and sounds of the dental surgery — making the whole experience calmer and more positive.

How Do
They Work?
-
Your child chooses from a selection of films or cartoons.
-
They put on a comfortable headset with built-in screens and headphones.
-
While your child enjoys their film, we can carry out treatment as usual.
-
We can still talk to your child at any time — the glasses don’t stop communication.
When Are Video-Glasses Helpful?
-
Your child feels nervous about treatment.
-
A longer appointment is needed, and distraction helps.
-
Your child has additional needs or sensory sensitivities.
-
To create a more positive and fun dental experience.

Safety and
comfort
The video-glasses are:
-
Lightweight and adjustable for children of different ages.
-
Safe — we can still see your child’s face and monitor them at all times.
-
Clean — each pair is disinfected thoroughly between patients.
Frequently asked questions
What films or shows can my child watch?
We have a wide choice of age-appropriate films and cartoons. Multiple streaming services are available, so there’s always something your child will enjoy.
Will my child still be aware of what’s happening?
Yes. Video-glasses are a distraction, not sedation. Your child will remain fully awake and responsive.
Are the glasses comfortable?
Yes. They are lightweight, adjustable and designed to fit children comfortably.
Is it safe to use them during treatment?
Completely. The glasses don’t interfere with dental care, and our team can talk to your child at all times.
Do all children enjoy them?
Most children love them. Some may prefer not to use them, and that’s absolutely fine — we’ll always adapt to your child’s needs. They can also be combined with sedation for a more profound effect.
Can parents see what their child is watching?
Yes. We only use child-friendly content, and parents are welcome to know what is being shown.
